After winning two ODAC championships in the past three years, you think the Washington and Lee women's soccer team would be satisfied, but no! Last year's loss to Lynchburg in the ODAC finals has the Lady Generals yearning for another ODAC title to call their own.

The leadership of captains Heather Rogers, Gina Von Sternberg, and Anne Wiltshire will guide the generals along the way. Von Sternberg earned First Team All-ODAC honors last season for her efforts as a midfielder. Rogers aided the defense of the Generals last season and was named First Team All-ODAC as well. Junior captain Wiltshire plans again to dominate on the offensive side of the ball. Earning First Team All-ODAC, First Team All-State, and Third Team All-Region last season, Wiltshire looks to move up the W&L record board as she currently ranks sixth all time in points and goals.

The female soccer team looks poised for yet another ODAC championship with eight starters returning. A crop of freshman talent will aid fifth year coach Neil Cunningham in an effort to recapture control over the conference. The class of 2009 will fill the holes of some of the talent that left last season and will give coach Cunningham more depth than in years past.

Therefore, with a mixture of returning talent, balanced senior leadership on both sides of the ball, and depth added by yet another good recruiting class, W&L's women's soccer team is set to take on all comers-but for now will have to prepare for Johns Hopkins University on Sept. 10.
