A year ago it would have been hard to believe the administration wanted to go this far. However, it has now become clear that if the Dean of Students office had its way, it would control all aspects of campus life, from whom we socialize and live with, to what we do on the weekends.

On more than one occasion at a press conference held on Friday, Dawn Watkins told a reporter, "Don't print that." According to the reporter, this came not after saying something stupid, but something candid and honest. Personally, I admire her initial honesty.

Dear Editor:
The letter from Christopher Swain '05L on military recruiting at the law school misses the point. No disrespect for the military is intended by adherence to a policy of non-discrimination in employment. One can value the important role of the military in our society and at the same time stand up for fundamental American values of fair play.
